Tuned, verified, immersive

The frequencies are dialled in. The audio is the reason you'll stay.

When binaural beats work, they work because the frequencies are right. We've tuned ours to the bands the research actually supports and verified the precision before any session ships. Sleep, focus, calm, and energy each get their own carrier, depth, and stage timing.

Around the beats, we build the room. Layered music. Rich soundscapes. Considered transitions and headphone-grade mixes. Every session is designed to immerse you so the science has the best possible conditions to land. The frequencies do their part. The audio keeps you in the chair.

How it works

Make music for yourself.

Pick

Choose what you're reaching for: sleep, meditate, relax, focus, energy. Or open a session you've already saved.

Compose

Set the music, the soundscape, the binaural tone. Dial each one in or out. Your settings, not ours.

Run

Press play and listen. Your tones, journeys, and use tracking sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Tones

Four ways to deliver a frequency. Your call which one carries.

Binaural

Two tones, one per ear. Your brain hears a third beat — the difference between them. Needs headphones.

Isochronic

A single tone pulsed on and off. No headphones required. The clearest of the four, and the one most listeners feel first.

Monaural

Two tones blended before playback, so the beat is already in the audio. Works through speakers as well as headphones.

Mixed

Layers two or three at once. For listeners who want variety in a single session, or who don't yet know which one their brain responds to.

Use cases

Real moments. Real listening.

11pm, deadline week

Headphones on. Beta carrier underneath the kind of audio that earns its place at hour three.

The 9pm wind-down

Quiet, composed sound. Doesn't pretend to be a meditation. Delta runs underneath if you want it.

Train, raining outside

Alpha under a soundscape you can leave on. Not a break. Not a song. Just space between stops.

Sunday slow start

Bright, layered audio with gamma tuned to the research. A second wind that isn't the fourth coffee.

FAQ

Do binaural beats actually work?

The research is real and growing. Some studies find small-to-moderate effects on focus and calm; others find nothing. We tune our frequencies to the bands the strongest research supports and verify the precision before any session ships. If the beats happen to do the heavy lifting for you, great. If the immersive audio around them does, also great.

Then why are binaural beats in the app at all?

Because some listeners genuinely find them useful, and there's enough plausible evidence to keep them as a feature. They're not the pitch. They run underneath audio that's worth listening to on its own.

What about the 2023 study?

A 2023 study with nearly a thousand participants found measurable effects on focus and relaxation in everyday listeners, and no improvement on memory. We treat it the same as the rest: real signal, real limits. The audio still has to do the work.

Why no free tier?

A free tier would water down the work that goes into the audio. The 7-day trial is the honest substitute. Full app, every band, cancel any time in your App Store settings.

What if I cancel during the trial?

You won't be charged. Cancellation runs through Apple's standard subscription flow.

How is Resonate Labs different from Calm, Headspace, or Endel?

Calm and Headspace are guided-meditation apps with a celebrity-voice library. Endel generates adaptive ambient music. Resonate Labs is for listeners who want frequency-level control: pick one of the five brainwave bands (delta, theta, alpha, beta, gamma), choose the tone type (binaural, isochronic, monaural, mixed), dial the music and soundscape independently, and run the session. No voice. No streaks. No mood theatre. The audio is built to earn the headphones.

What's the difference between binaural, isochronic, monaural, and mixed tones?

Binaural plays two tones — one per ear — and your brain hears a third beat (needs headphones). Isochronic is a single tone pulsed on and off (no headphones required, often the clearest of the four). Monaural blends two tones before playback so the beat is in the audio itself (works on speakers). Mixed layers two or three at once for listeners who want variety. The app lets you switch between all four per session.

Is there a 40 Hz gamma mode?

Yes. The gamma band covers 30–100 Hz, and 40 Hz specifically is the carrier used in most of the published gamma research. You can run it as binaural, isochronic, monaural, or mixed, and layer it under any of the music tracks or soundscapes.
